Pimp My House plasters walls and ceilings smooth. Paint-ready if paint goes on top, wallpaper-ready if wallpaper comes. We also repair cracks, holes and old damaged plaster, and apply textured plaster if you want texture. Plastering is the base under smooth spray work, so we often do it in one planning with latex spraying. We come round for free and you get one fixed price.

What do we do when plastering?
Smooth skim plaster on walls and ceilings: a thin coat over existing plaster, plasterboard or concrete, finished smooth so it can be painted or sprayed cleanly. Paint-ready means the wall can be painted straight after drying. Wallpaper-ready is slightly rougher and cheaper, meant for wallpaper.
We also repair: closing cracks, filling holes from pipework, removing loose plaster and reapplying, and making corners crisp with corner beads.
How we do it
Preparing the surface
Loose plaster comes off, cracks are cut out and filled, holes closed. An absorbent or smooth surface gets a primer or bonding coat, otherwise the new coat lets go.
Plastering
We apply walls and ceilings in one or two coats, depending on how flat the surface is. Corners get a bead so they are crisp and impact-resistant.
Smooth finish and drying
The final coat is trowelled smooth. Then drying: at least a few days, longer for thick coats. Only then can paint go on.
What determines the price?
The square metres, the state of the surface and the finish. Making plasterboard paint-ready is different work from stripping an old, damaged wall first. Ceilings are heavier work than walls.
If there is a lot of repair, you see it as a separate item in your fixed price. Never anything afterwards.

The details
- Paint-ready
- Finished smooth so it can be painted or sprayed straight after drying. The usual finish for a clean home.
- Wallpaper-ready
- Slightly rougher than paint-ready, meant as a base for wallpaper. Cheaper, but not suitable for painting directly.
- Gypsum plaster
- The standard material for indoors: dries in a few days, finishes smooth. TODO-MASON: which brand of plaster we use.
- Primer and bonding coat
- On concrete, smooth plasterboard or old paint a bonding agent first; on absorbent brickwork a primer. Otherwise the plaster does not adhere.
- Corner beads
- Metal or plastic beads on external corners, so the corner is crisp and impact-resistant.
- Drying time
- About a day per millimetre of thickness. A normal 2 to 3 mm coat is dry enough to paint after three to five days.
- Textured plaster
- Plaster with grain, if you do not want a smooth wall. Can be painted or sprayed later.
- Thickness
- Smooth plaster is usually 2 to 5 mm; uneven walls need more or a base coat first.
Good to know
Fresh plaster has to be really dry before paint goes on. Paint too early and you get patches and flaking later. We therefore plan the spraying or painting a few days after plastering. Small shrinkage cracks in a new build are normal in the first year; we close them when painting.

Frequently asked about plastering
Can paint go straight onto new plaster?
After drying yes, with a primer first. Count on three to five days of drying for a normal coat. We simply plan that in for you.
Can you make an old wall with cracks smooth again?
Yes. We cut out and fill cracks, remove loose plaster and apply a new smooth coat. At the visit we see how much repair there is.
What is the difference between paint-ready and wallpaper-ready?
Paint-ready is smooth enough to paint directly. Wallpaper-ready is slightly rougher, meant for wallpaper, and cheaper. If you might paint later, choose paint-ready.
Do you do ceilings too?
Yes, plastering ceilings smooth is daily work. It is heavier than walls and you see that in the price, but the result after spraying is the best there is.
Can you do the plastering and the spraying together?
Gladly. Then we plan it back to back: plaster, dry, spray. One contact, one fixed price. See total finishing too.
How much mess does plastering make?
Some dust and splashes, but we cover everything and leave the room clean. Furniture does have to go or move to the middle.
