Pimp My House does traditional interior painting: rolling walls and ceilings, and lacquering doors, frames, skirting and stairs. With plenty of colour if you like. For most jobs you already see an example range from our calculator below; after a free visit you get one fixed price.
What does it roughly cost?
Example ranges from our calculator, materials included. Your fixed price follows after our free visit.
What counts as interior painting?
Everything you do indoors with a brush and a roller. Walls and ceilings in latex, white or in colour. Woodwork in lacquer: interior doors, frames, skirting, radiators, the staircase. And wall panelling with trim if you want a classic wainscot.
Rolling is the right choice if you live in the house, if you want one room done or if you want an accent colour. For an empty house or new build, latex spraying is usually faster and smoother; we offer that too.
How we do it
Preparation
Masking, covering, filling holes and cracks, degreasing and sanding old lacquer matt. Good preparation is half of a clean result.
Priming and finishing
Bare patches and new wood get primer. Then two coats of lacquer in satin or gloss, or two covering coats of wall paint, cut in cleanly along ceiling and skirting.
Hand-over
We walk through everything with you, remove the masking and leave the place clean. The same evening you can usually use the room again.
What determines the price?
The square metres, the number of pieces of woodwork, the state of the surface and the colour. Dark to light costs an extra coat. Old lacquer that is flaking has to go back to a sound surface first.
For rooms, ceilings, stairs and woodwork our calculator already works this out with our real rates. Then we come round for free to measure and it becomes one fixed price.

The details
- Wall paint
- Water-based latex, matt for walls and ceilings, lightly washable for kitchen and bathroom. Two coats, rolled and cut in wet on wet.
- Water-based lacquer
- For indoors: hardly yellows and does not smell. In satin (calm) or gloss (the cleanest, shows irregularities sooner).
- Primer and adhesion primer
- Bare wood gets primer, plastic and old lacquer an adhesion primer. Without adhesion no long life.
- Drying times
- Wall paint dust-dry after a few hours, hard after a day. Lacquer recoatable after a night, fully cured after a week.
- Coverage
- One litre of good wall paint covers about 10 m² per coat. Dark to light means a third coat.
- Colours
- Any RAL or NCS colour, mixed to order. White is not just white: RAL 9010 is warm, RAL 9016 cooler.
Good to know
If you choose rolling and woodwork, we do the ceiling first, then the walls, then the wood. That way you only clear the room once. Not sure about colour? We bring fan decks and put up test patches. Colour advice is a separate service if you want a full plan.

What our work looks like

Frequently asked about interior painting
Rolling or spraying, which is better?
Rolling if you live in the house, do one room or want an accent wall. Spraying if the house is empty or a new build: faster and smoother. We advise you honestly at the visit.
Can I see a price first?
Yes. For rooms, ceilings, stairs and woodwork our calculator gives an estimate with our real rates. After the free visit it becomes one fixed price.
Do you also do exterior painting?
No. We only do interior finishing. That is what we are good at and we stick to it.
Do I have to empty the room myself?
No need. We move large furniture to the middle and cover it. Small items are best put away.
Do you help choosing colours?
Yes. At the visit we think along and put up test patches. For a complete colour plan, see colour advice and design.
When do I pay?
Nothing upfront. For jobs above € 1,500 we ask 25% on the first working day. The rest you pay when everything is done and you are happy.
