Pimp My House thinks along about colour and design. We make a colour plan for your whole home or for one room, design with you on wall layout, panelling and wainscoting, and show you how it will look with test patches and a visualisation. The difference with a stand-alone colour consultant: we do the work afterwards, so we only advise what really comes out clean. We come round for free to meet and you get one fixed price for the advice.

Price after a free visit

The price depends on the surface, the square metres and exactly what you want. That is why we come round first. Then you get one fixed price, materials included.

What do you get with colour advice?

A conversation at your home about what you like, how you live and what is already there. Then a colour plan: per room the colours for walls, ceiling, woodwork and floor, with the colour codes so it can always be reordered. We put up test patches in your own light, because colour on a fan deck is not the same as colour on your wall.

Want more than colour? Then we design with you: an accent wall, wall panelling with trim, a colour block that divides the room, or a clean plan for your new build. With a simple visualisation so you see it beforehand.

How we do it

Meeting at your home

We look at the light, the floor, the furniture and what you like. You show examples, we ask questions. Free and without obligation.

Colour plan and test patches

We work out a plan with colour codes per room and per element. On the doubtful spots we put up test patches of half a metre, so you see it in your own light, by day and in the evening.

Design and execution

If you want panelling, an accent wall or a layout in colour blocks, we draw it out. Once you agree, we carry it out: spraying, painting, lacquering.

What determines the price?

The number of rooms and whether you want just a colour plan or design and visualisation too. A colour plan for one room is a small amount; a complete plan for a new-build home with visualisation is more work.

If we also do the work, we offset the advice against the job. TODO-MASON: confirm whether the advice is offset fully or partly when we do the work.

How it works

  1. You call us

Or we call you back. You tell us briefly what you want.

  2. We come round

Free. We measure up, check the surfaces and think along.

  3. One fixed price

Materials included. What we agree is what you pay.

The details

RAL and NCS
The two colour systems we work with. RAL is the building standard, NCS describes colour by nuance. Every colour in the plan gets a code.
Light
North light is cool and makes white bluish; south light is warm. The same colour looks different per facade; that is why we look on site.
Test patch
Half a metre of real paint on the wall, in two places. The only honest way to judge a colour.
Sheen
Matt for walls and ceilings, satin or gloss for woodwork. Sheen changes how light a colour looks.
Colour block and accent wall
One wall or part of a wall in a different colour to steer a room: deeper, higher, calmer.
Wall panelling with trim
Classic panels we set out to the size of your wall and lacquer cleanly. One of our own jobs, see the photos.
Warm and cool white
RAL 9010 is warm white, RAL 9016 bright and cool. The difference is small on the fan deck and big on the wall.

Good to know

We only advise what we can make clean ourselves. A deep colour on a wall with many irregularities shows every bump; then we say so honestly and propose plastering or a matt finish first. Colour advice without us doing the work is possible too; you get the plan with all the codes.

Frequently asked about colour advice and design

Is colour advice free?

The first visit is free. A worked-out colour plan with test patches is a separate service with a fixed price, which we name before we start. TODO-MASON: confirm how the advice is offset when we do the work.

Can I get colour advice without you doing the work?

Yes. You get the colour plan with all colour codes, so you or someone else can get to work with it.

Do you help with a new-build home too?

Especially. An empty house is the best moment for a plan for walls, ceilings, woodwork and floor in one go. See total finishing too.

Do you make a 3D visualisation?

We make a simple visualisation on a photo of your own room, so you see the colours and blocks beforehand. Not a full 3D drawing, but enough to decide.

How long does a colour plan take?

After the visit you usually have the plan within a week. We put up test patches at a second visit or during the job.

Choose colours together?

Call us, we come round for free to meet and you hear straight away what a colour plan costs.
