Rotterdam is the city of post-war reconstruction: many homes date from after 1945, surrounded by 1920s and 1930s neighbourhoods that survived the bombing, and new builds on the edges and along the Maas. For us that means three kinds of work: old wood and high ceilings in the pre-war areas, smooth walls and low ceilings in post-war blocks, and clean spray work in new builds.

From 1930s frames in Kralingen to spray work in Nesselande
Kralingen, Blijdorp and Hillegersberg: 1920s and 1930s
Townhouses and walk-up flats with high ceilings, panelled doors and profiled wooden frames. Here the woodwork is the job: sanding, priming, two coats of water-based lacquer. Ceilings and walls we roll or spray, depending on whether you live there.
Centre and the Lijnbaan: reconstruction
Apartments from the 1950s and 1960s with smooth concrete walls and low ceilings. Latex spraying gives the cleanest result here; old textured plaster we can smooth first.
Ommoord, Zevenkamp and IJsselmonde: 1960s to 1980s
Flats and terraced houses with the same floor plan. We know beforehand how many doors and metres of wall we will meet; that prices easily and the work goes fast.
Nesselande, Prinsenland and the Kop van Zuid: new build
Large smooth walls, often still in the builder's white from hand-over. An empty or newly bought apartment we spray clean in two to three days, ceiling and walls in one go.
Delfshaven and Charlois: old and mixed
Old buildings next to renovated blocks. Often plaster repair first, then paint. We say honestly what the surface needs before we name a price.
Parking and set-up in the city
In Rotterdam we count parking time and loading. That is in your fixed price, no surprise afterwards. For an upstairs flat without a lift we agree on materials beforehand.
